You know what’s sad, old and just a flaming bowl of hypocritical?
The number of pagans and pagan blogs that want to demonize other pagans who’s paths have evolved and changed and sent them back to Christianity.
1. It’s their path, it’s not yours
Then I saw a blog that says, you should support them in their decision, but it’s ok to be hurt and confused about it.
I call bullshit. Why? Again, it’s their path, it’s not yours.
Perhaps it’s a bit of a leap, but I’m going to equate someones spiritual identity on the same level as their gender identity. In the end, they are free to associate with whatever gender or religious flavoring of their choosing and it has shit all to do with the outside world.
I’m sick and tired of people feeling the need to demonize others for their personal choices, and I’m sick of pagans who want to bash christianity.
If your top gripe, as a community is that you want to be treated equally, and not be demonized by those who are in the top tier, best selling religions, then you better check your hypocrasy at the door before doing that very thing when someone else is called, or called back, to another path.
It’s their path, it’s not yours. Stop being a butthurt little bitch and let them worship who and how they see fit.
From here, but now in post form!

Basic reading comprehension skills go a long long way. Also, before you go and try to push your morality and ethics upon someone else, (rede thumping for example) be completely sure that you understand the conversation that is happening.
None of the responders to the thread were in fact agreeing to do any sort of curse work, spell casting or mercenary witchwork for the OP. All of the responses were subtly worded warnings of what one could expect if that was the road they chose to go down.
At the same time, we understand that sometimes that’s the avenue that one would like to travel, and we’re not going to demonize someone for doing something that the fluff bunnies will clutch their pearls about and scream to high heaven about the rede and the rule of three.
Read that shit, understand that shit, and don’t push your ethics onto others.
And a little frustrated, to be quite frank. And to be honest, hurt.
There seems to be this… thought that there is a unifying doctrine to Paganism. And while I do not think that this is so, I am not here to argue that point. I am simply curious what impression people seem to be under in regards to the label.
What, actually, IS this unifying doctrine? What separates Paganism from other spiritual paths?
There is none. The only thing they have in common is falling under the umbrella term and the most generic definition of said term is Non Abrahamic
the most scariest thing about the “Pagans and Wiccans being all kind and peaceful” stuff that’s been going around?
That makes it easier for people to be manipulated, abused, and even sexually assaulted.
to glorify a certain group in such a way, it makes it harder to point out the bad and try to change it.
"oh? What? No way. He/she couldn’t have done those things. They’re pagan. Everyone knows pagans don’t hurt anyone. You must be lying"
No matter what group they’re from, no matter who they are, no one has the right to abuse (in anyway) another person.
Just because someone is pagan won’t change the fact that abuse is abuse, and that it happens even in this community.
There is a large sub section of people who fall under the pagan umbrella who want to demonize Christianity and point out the wars and bloodshed, and other faults of said path, that they want to paint the picture or romanticize paganism as a path of peace, unity, butterflies and unicorn farts.

What everyone needs to remember is that people are people, there will be good ones and not good ones regardless of religious flavor.

Also, there are a shit ton of wackadoo people who seek out the younger seekers, and they make a point of grooming them to take advantage of them, sexually and mentally by controlling their religious and spiritual growth.

People suck, and there are predators in every religion.
